Ellie is a 22-year-old singer who recently graduated from the University of York. Within York’s Music Department, Ellie directed the acapella ensemble Vox and was a member of The 24, University Choir, The Chimera Ensemble and The Assembled. She additionally launched a weekly Performance Platform that enabled singers and instrumentalists to receive feedback from peers in an informal setting. Highlights from her final year include performing Colin Matthew’s orchestration of Britten’s ‘A Charm of Lullabies’ with University Chamber Orchestra, and Lucy Havelock’s improvisational work ‘In Two Minds’ for solo voice and saxophone. She was recently a chorus member in Handel’s Acis and Galatea at Ryedale Festival, Theodora at Northern Aldborough Festival and Rameau’s Castor et Pollux at Stour Music Festival with Rameau Rising Stars and now has a particular interest in pursuing both opera and new music projects. From autumn 2022, she will hold the position of Alto Lay Clerk at New College Oxford.
