HANNAH THOMSON

I was a member of the Opera North Youth Chorus for 2 years, performing at The Sage Gateshead, Howard Assembly Rooms, and Hull Cathedral. I have also performed as a soloist at Sheffield and Wakefield Cathedral and for the West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra.

I am a Durham Music Graduate and alumna of Durham Opera Ensemble, undertaking principal roles in 'Die Fledermaus' and 'Iolanthe'. I performed as a soloist in their devised opera The Travellers’ Tale, singing various pieces from operas, including, 'The Mikado', 'La Traviata', 'Die Fledermaus', and 'Carmen'. Outside of DOE, I performed as a soloist in lunchtime recitals and academic formal dinners. I finished my degree with a performance of 'The Telephone', playing the role Lucy.

In 2020, I became a member of Leeds Youth Opera, being cast as Adelaide in ‘The Enchanted Pig’ and, more recently, Papagena and Third Spirit in ‘The Magic Flute’. I am also a member of the Huddersfield Choral Society.
