Jakub Watrobski is in his third year of study on the undergraduate music course at the University of York. Having started learning the piano at the age of four, Jakub has always felt that piano performance is the direction he would like to pursue. He has performed works by various composers including Rachmaninov, Chopin and Debussy, more recently playing contemporary repertoire by composers such as Rautavaara, Saariaho and Simaku. He is currently studying under the tutelage of internationally renowned pianist Jakob Fichert and has performed in masterclasses with Danny Driver and Leon McCawley. Jakub's passion for contemporary music has led him to have roles on the committee of the Chimera Ensemble, as well as the position of outreach coordinator of the Arc Project. Jakub is also a keen composer and has had his works performed by various ensembles, including the Chimera Ensemble and Quatuor Diotima.
