Lizzie is a recorder player and clarinettist with a passion for both early and contemporary music. Currently in her third year at the University of Birmingham, she studies recorder with Annabel Knight.

Lizzie caught the contemporary music bug while playing with the Chimera Ensemble in 2018. At University, she directs ‘Creative Exchange’, a collective dedicated to performing student compositions, open scores and improvisation. More recently, Lizzie has been exploring interactions between visual art and music, in collaboration with Owen Russell (tape/electronics, composition) and David Severn (photography).

The humble recorder has given Lizzie the opportunity to travel across the UK and further afield –including to Israel, where she competed in the Tel Aviv Recorder Festival in February. Back at home, she can be found playing clarinet with the University Symphony Orchestra, participating in masterclasses with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire recorder department, or delivering workshops in local primary schools.
